The mouth of the Sangro River marks the northern boundary of the municipal territory and is an area of great natural value, forming an integral part of the Lecceta di Torino di Sangro Regional Nature Reserve.

It is a wetland that hosts a significant migratory bird population: gray herons, little egrets, kingfishers, curlews, and—during seasonal migrations—even passing pink flamingos. The point where the fresh waters of the Sangro meet the sea creates a brackish water microhabitat that is extremely rare along this stretch of the Adriatic coast.

Accessible via the Lecceta trails or the Via Verde dei Trabocchi. The Reserve’s wildlife observation towers provide opportunities for birdwatching.
